Concept

This project was developed as part of a “Design for Good” initiative focused on rebranding an existing nonprofit organization. The Foundation for Endangered Languages supports the documentation, preservation, and promotion of endangered languages worldwide. The refreshed identity centers on clarity, accessibility, and global representation. The logo system combines a structured typographic logotype with a symbolic mark derived from speech bubbles, representing dialogue, linguistic diversity, and the gradual disappearance of endangered languages. Typography was selected to reinforce both personality and function. Citizen was chosen for headlines and brand presence due to its multifaceted forms, reflecting the diversity of languages and cultures the foundation supports. Macho was paired for body text across print and digital materials, offering readability and a neutral tone that supports long-form content. The identity system was applied across a range of materials, including conference collateral, membership forms, promotional posters, and a website concept, creating a cohesive visual language for the organization across print and digital touchpoints.
