Do Lions Cry? is a published children’s picture book that explores emotional expression and vulnerability through a gentle, age-appropriate narrative. I illustrated and designed the book from concept through final artwork and print production.

Concept

Do Lions Cry? centers on the idea that strength and softness can coexist. The visual approach balances warmth and clarity, using composition, typography, and page rhythm to support moments of quiet reflection alongside narrative movement. The design considers both independent reading and shared reading aloud, creating space for pause, reassurance, and discussion between children and their grown-ups. By treating each spread as part of a cohesive emotional arc, the book invites young readers to recognize and express feelings while reinforcing a sense of safety and understanding.

Skills
